My wife who is 13 weeks pregnant experienced severe abdominal pain followed by passing a lot of blood. I took her to A&E and ahe was quickly sent to Gynaecology on levwl 11. We waited for 3 hours to see a doctor. When the doctor did finally show, she said she'll get some pain killers for my wife and disappeared for half an hour returning with no pain killers. She told us to wait another 3 hours to be scanned or come back after four hours. I explained to the doctor in a calm way that its already 5am. My pregnant wife hasn't slept all night, if she meeds to be scanned then we can't come back after four hours because she needs rest. I requested for a afternoon scan. The doctor said she can't change the appointment, if we don't take the appointment then they'll cancel the appointment. We returned home at 6am and called the hospital at midday to book a scan, but they refused to treat her on that. I explained that we lost our baby at 25 wewks during last pregnancy, but they didn't care. I then called the Haywards Heath hospital and told them to book my wife for a scan, they refused to see her too. They said my wife had a scan a week ago so most likely she'll be ok and they can't scan women so regularly. We felt lost and hopeless. There was no reassurance that our baby was ok and we were going through a lot of emotions becauae of previous pregnancy. In my opiniin, the Royal Sussex County Hospital don't care about pregnant women who are in severe pain especially if you're from another country. We felt like we were an inconvenience for them for the entire time we were there. In the end, we left the hospital with no medical advice, no treatment and no reassurance. The doctor also had the nerve to show me attitude.
