The staff on the ward were friendly, considerate and showed respect for me and my needs. They took great care of me before and after the operation. The surgical staff explained what was going to happen and took time to answer questions. The surgeon explained how the operation had gone and what they had found. He made sure that I was able to be discharged the same day and rang me the following morning to check how I was. I was given emergency numbers to call if there were any problems at home. the anaesthetics teams were very reassuring and helped to reduce my worries. This was the first operation I had ever had under general anaesthetic. Overall I was as happy as I could be during surgery.
