"what an awful hospital"

About: Prospect Park Hospital

My daughter was treated for depression on the NHS for 17 years but never really got any better, so we went private and after a few consultations was diagnosed with bi polar. The medication she was given helped her enormously and she felt so much better. She was told this would be with her for life and that she would still get episodes where she would feel bad so was given regular check ups to monitor her.At the beginning of the year my husband was made redundant so we could no longer afford private health care so she went to her G.P. who refered her to Prospect Park and I have to say it only took three weeks to get an appointment which I thought was fair enough. She is now going through a really bad episode so I phoned to ask for an appointment only to be told her case has been closed, I asked why? she has bi-polar and one visit to you is not going to make it go away, she needs regular monitoring and be able to see someone when she is bad. I was told She now has to get another G.P. referel and go through all the system again which by that time she will probably have taken an overdose. I have no alternative but to take her back to the private clinic that we can ill afford, but I just wonder what happens to patients that cannot do this?
