"A&E - Then general surgey ward"

About: Broomfield Hospital

My husband had a close encounter with a circular saw and was taken to A&E, where he was seen as soon as possible. The following day we spent from 8am to 11pm waiting for his hand to be seen by a surgeon. The reasons for the prolonged wait were explained to us and although we did have a very long wait for what was about 20 minutes with the surgeon, we were treated with respect and care throughout our time there. It is clear that there are not enough staff to cope with the number of people - but that is not the fault of the "workers" but of the government who are insisting on cut backs and money saving!! Praise to the nurses for doing a difficult job under pressure and still managing to smile!
