"My Mother in Law had 2 heart attacks ..."

About: Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital

(as a relative),

What I liked

My Mother in Law had 2 heart attacks and was admitted on 2 occassions via A&E. Her treatment was very thorough and carried out in a very patient friendly manner. My Mother in Law was extremely afraid of being admitted to hospital but these fears were soon addressed by the patient and caring staff. My M in Law was very ill and needed very patient nursing, she worries over every little thing but the staff were able to put her mind at rest and help her on the road to recovery. My Father in Law died 5 years ago and had a very poor experience in a Medway hospital, this is what had caused my M in Laws fears about being in hospital.

What could be improved

Mums first night was as an emergency situation and she was placed in the CDU which is extremely noisy throughout the night. There were machines bleeping on and off all night. The only improvement I would like to see is that somebody would monitor these machines more quickly when the alarms go off.

Anything else?

Wonderful staff, brilliant care, clean and comfortable wards. Well done QEQM.
