"need to drag me over hot coals to have my baby..."

After recently attending the EPU and mulberry ward I have decided to have my baby at a different hospital. Credit must be given to some of the amazing nurses there, who are wonderful and supportive. However , the consultants who do not seem to be able to consult with one anougher or agree, or in fact have bed side manner with their patients who are possibly losing their babies is truly shocking. No thought is given to the fact that everyone in the ward can here what they are saying to you - when you dare disagree with the consultants you are treated with disdain. To be told that ' you will not be having a baby in 7 months time , this is not viable' and than walk away from the patients bed and leave her alone sobbing - to then be proved wrong is a very dangerous thing when that patient had serious PND in her last pregnacy. Equally to have a consultant look at your fetal sack and say no heartbeat is detected when that sack is actually a fibroid is even more scary ! For the patient to have to discharge herself - as she disagreed with the consultants and was terrified they would make her have the operation that she rightly believed she didn't need is also uncomfortable. I understand the seriousness of some complications in pregancy - however, consultants need to listen to their patients and not disregard their opinions when sometimes they are very much valid. I don't know what will happen in this pregancy but at the moment everything appears to fine thank god. I think that by moving hospitals I will at least have a chance of having an enjoyable pregnancy. I hope that this review is posted - and not censored.
