"Fast and efficient"

I attended the A&E/Urgent Care today (22/7/14) and was very impressed by the level of care and professionalism from the staff. It was a very hot day and there were quite a number of people filling out the waiting area. I was checked in quickly and my the total time from when I got there to when I left, including seeing the doctor twice, having X-rays and treatment was about 2.5 hours. The woman in the desk area was the most friendly NHS staff member I have come across, each time I returned to the counter I was met with a smile and even when I was waiting and she left the desk area to assist some patients with difficulties to another area, she made eye contact with me and said she would be back soon. The doctor I saw (who gave up his fan because he had an open window) was genuinely interested in what had happened to me and because of my athletic profession, he took extra care in assuring I would have everything I needed to get through the next few weeks and also in the long term. I felt looked after and wasn't scared to ask for anything, had I needed to. Charing Cross is not my local hospital, but any time I come I always feel cared for and if I ever need the A&E services, I will travel the extra 25 minutes rather than go to my local A&E. I hope my comments are passed onto the relevent staff because they really did an outstanding job.
