"Stroke and after care"

About: Croydon University Hospital / Accident and emergency Croydon University Hospital / Urology

(as a relative),

My 83 year old mother suffered stroke last year. The experience is too painfull to put into words. In nut shell he was misdiagnosed by A&E doctor therefore as a result did not receive the timely accurate treatment which has a very good success rate. Nursing Staff and Health Care assistants rude and did not follow basic hygine standards, constantly putting soiled pads on the bed side table next to food. My mum caught chicken pox but doctors or nursing staff did not notice it despite the family pointing out, medical staff put it down heat rash. Subsequent two admissions the medical staff's attitude and priority was to speed up end of life before even diagnosing or putting any treatment in place.

I do not want to go on about it as I am still having flash backs of everything from nurses chucking handful of various shape and size tables in her mouth to swallow after which my was too anxious of taking her medication.

My advise will be to avoid Croydon University Hospital at all costs. Staff and Dr's will never change.
