"Initial contact was unnecessary "

About: Telford referral and quality service (TRAQS)

(as the patient),

I felt the initial contact by TRAQS was unnecessary. Rather than book an appointment without my knowledge or permission it was a waste of time. Send me a letter advising me to contact TRAQS to arrange a time/date would have been better.

Otherwise my experience was very good, and I hope my feedback will be dealt with satisfactorily as well.

Thank you for taking the time to write to TRAQS.

I am sorry that you feel that you the process of dealing with your referral by TRAQS is 'unnecessary'. I am assuming your GP gave you our leaflet at your appointment which would have explained how your referral would be managed? Once we receive a referral we aim to complete our process as soon as possible in order for an appointment to be booked at a time and location of your choice. The appointments available appear on a live system and as I am sure you will appreciate are taken up very quickly. In order to prevent any delay to your referral we always try phoning the patient in the first instance on all available numbers then, if unsuccessful, send a letter to the patient advising them to contact TRAQS.

I hope this explains TRAQS a little clearer and am pleased to note that you were otherwise happy with the service provided.

Many thanks again for writing.
