Recently I visited A&E with my partner after he cut his finger quite badly. When we arrived we could see that A&E was busy, however, the receptionist was friendly and efficient and booked him in. He was then triaged quite quickly again by a friendly nurse and then seen by a brilliant Nurse Practitioner who was on her first day at the hospital and who was so lovely and down to earth and took time to have a bit of chat with use whilst she was patching him up.
The A&E department was particularly busy and there was a couple of patients that you could see were a challenging to staff (for no reason), but everyone was dealt with with respect and courtesy and the nurses dealt with the challenging patients well.
We are all told about how A&E is in crisis, but in my opinion, this A&E team was working very well, even though it was very busy. Thank you.
