"I was sceptical but CBT really helped"

About: Inclusion Matters Liverpool

(as the patient),

I attended Inclusion Matters, following the beginning of a dark period of my life.

Initially I was very sceptical as to how CBT could help me, I wasn't even sure if I was depressed. However, my therapist was so lovely, and even just talking eventually made me feel better, somebody who seemed to actually understand without making me feel dramatic!

Attending CBT helped me to realise that I could be a good mum, and that I wont always get things right, and that is OK.

Thank You

Dear Vale124,

Thankyou for sharing your experience with us. I'm sure your words will be encouraging to others who are feeling low but not sure if they could benefit from psychological therapy. It sounds like being able to talk to someone who was able to understand was of most importance to you.

Best wishes

Tracey
