I have nothing but the highest praise for all the NHS staff who cared for me during this short period, despite the obvious extreme pressure under which they were having to work. It is to their credit that they remain so cheerful on such long shifts, and I witnessed teamwork to a very high level. I give full marks to the contract catering company for the quality of the meals they provided. The food looked, and was, appetising - the ward's empty plates at the end of each meal.spoke for itself. The only downside was provided by two of the agency nurses on the Sunday night shift. One was allowed to wear shoes with heels that loudly 'click-clacked' all night. The other, in preparing me for a Sigmoidoscopy session, left me on a commode, with no toilet paper, and went off duty without apparently alerting one of the day staff.to take over.my care.
