My wife had major surgery on the day surgery unit on 29 April. Was kept overnight and discharged the following day saying that she needed to be seen in outpatients in 6 weeks time and that an appointment would be arranged. We are still waiting for an appointment 12 weeks later.. I have rung the hospital to be told that they will be in touch about arranging an appointment but have heard nothing. The care received in hospital was excellent but it just seems that as soon as you walk out the front door you are forgotten about. My wife is concerned about her recovery and is having some problems with the operation scar but doesn't want to see her GP as he will only refer her back to to the hospital and she will be back to square one. She has had health problems since she was first admitted with her original condition 3 years ago and this was her third operation since then. She is very distressed about her health issues and the stress caused by the apparant lack of any follow up is not helping her recovery.
