"major surgery"

About: Leicester General Hospital

After being diagnosed with cervical cancer, the staff from gyno dept, ward 11 and ward 31 were absolutely fantastic. I had complicated major surgery on june 1st 2014 and spent almost a month on ward 31 both before and after surgery. The staff were so caring and reassuring. They all took time to explain any concerns I had and always made me comfortable. They all did a great job, and id highly reccommend that is the place to be for any gyno probs. Im now 6 weeks post op, and although my recovery is slow, im definitely on the mend. I cant thank both surgeons enough for operating and removing my cancer successfully. I can now go on to live a fulfilled life.

Dear Amanda, Thank you for sharing your experience with us, it's lovely to see such kind praise for our staff. They all work incredibly hard and feedback like this really does make it all worth it! We have shared your comments with the head of service, matron and ward sister, who will in turn share it with the rest of the teams on ward 11 and 31, as well as the surgeons. We are delighted to hear that everything is going well and that you are on the mend :-) Wishing you all the best and good health for the future, Communications Team Leicester's Hospitals
