"Encourage people to relapse"

About: Turning Point Substance Misuse Services / Catalyst

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

Your billboards are stupid, they encourage people to relapse. Like your safer injecting leaflet! !

It was not the intention of the billboards to make people want to relapse, instead we hope the posters give a positive message of recovery as well as provide people with educational information.

We actively monitor the billboards and leaflets in reception and will take this comment on board when designing advertising of this kind in the future.

In regards to this specific piece of information about injecting, we have removed these from the waiting area and we really value your feedback in telling us that this hasn’t helped your recovery.

In the main we have really positive responses from many people who have seen the posters and our leaflets and have contacted the service for support.
