"Comments on Minor Injuries Unit"

Attended the Liskeard Minor Injuries Unit this morning with my wife who had injured her knee a few days ago in France. Receptionist was very friendly and helpful. However, both of us were most surprised to be treated as naughty children by the attending nurse who scolded us and said we should have gone straight away to a hospital in France. Somewhat contradictory advice as health services would be swamped if everyone rushed to A&E immediately after a minor injury with no broken bones. We only went after it became obvious that the injury was not getting any better. Nurese advice was to exercise the leg and expect up to 3 months before it got better. No advice on rest or use of a stick. Just really poor body language that said "you are wasting my time and I cannot really be bothered with this". Result, no useful advice and my wife now refuses to go anywhere near the unit. Perhaps that was the intention.
