This is sent on behalf of my Mother who had a stroke on Sat morning, the paramedics that attended were fantastic, on arrival at A & E we were seen by a nurse who took my mothers blood pressure and temp, checked her blood sugar levels and took blood after a good while, we waited very paitiently then until 6pm, some six hours after arriving to see a Doctor!!!!!!!!!!!! he was good very apologetic about the delay in that time my Mum had nothing to eat despite being a diabetic, we were told that she couldnt have anything until a Doctor saw her. There was no bed at 9-30pm they got a bed out of store for her and put this into the cubicale where she had been all day still nothing offered to eat.We did get water from machine. I had a call at 10pm to say a bed had been found for her on a ward. My mother had had a stroke, who cares not many people, so much for seeing to stroke victims in a certain amount of time for the best possible recovery. Then I had a call from the ward asking me to bring my mothers tablets in? what happened to the bag with all the medication that was placed safely in her bag the night before? and then another call they had lost her teeth!!!!!!!!! I could have cried she needs her teeth!!!!!!!!!! my sister in law went to the hospital and found the tablets under the bed, why? they didnt look far and who moved her teeth out of the sealed bag that they were put into for saftey so that they wouldnt get lost.Please tell me, my Mother was more devasted about that than the stroke. She was then left on the commode last night even though she is at risk of falling and my neice got fed up with waiting and pressing the bell and helped her off padded her grandmother up and put her to bed, appalling treatment for a proud lady.

What could be improved

Everything to angry to even put anything down who would listen

Get someone to answer the phone, trying to get an answer to make sure my mum is ok, before I go to bed I exspect a call to say she's fallen no confidence in anyone on that ward
