My baby was born (induced 2 weeks late) in September 2012. All in all it went well. Maybe too well as the staff didn't quite believe me when I told them that the baby was coming. I decided to go without any pain relief and they accepted my choice while making sure I wasn't changing my mind along the -painful- way! Everybody was great, gave us time, didn't rush us and was very explanatory about everything. A great change from my midwife who had been rubbish from day one. I'd be happy to have another baby in the same hospital Since then we've had to go to A&E 3 times for little one (asthma and sudden unexplained limping). Again the staff was great. One little hiccup though with our overnight stay at the ward at 4.30am a nurse came round to wake me/administer the drug to my little one who was sleeping with me (nurse had said it was ok). That went well but then 30 minutes later 2 nurses came in to do the same again (wrong!) and 1/ didn't check where the baby was so she nearly fell to the floor when they moved the bed (I caught her mid-air) and 2/would have administered drugs again had I not told them it had already been done. They should check charts before starting treatment! Thankfully all went well and all in all all the staff was very kind, accommodating, helpful etc... Hoping not to have to go again of course but will definitely be happy with Wexham if we have to visit A&E again.
