What I liked
The staff in A&E were superb - couldnt fault them at all - however the story was very different within the main hospital.
What could be improved
I had the misfortune of being admitted to Royal Berks for a leg infection. The first night I was in a ward with the opposite sex with elderly patients. The subsequent nights I was in a ward with elderley men. The ward toilets were filthy in the mornings, patients calls for assistance during the night were frequently ignored - in fact they were told to soil themselves in the bed. C-Dif was rampant in the ward I was in and frankly it was no wonder. I eventually discharged myself to avoid getting infected. I then had to wait for several hours whist my prescriptions were made up. I spent I night in a Spanish state hospital recently and it was a refreshingly different experience !! We have a lot to learn here in the UK.
Anything else?
I wouldnt wish this place on my worst enemy !!
