"Saturday afternoon @ A&E"

About: Homerton University Hospital

I visited A&E on July 5 having injured my ankle. I was seen on the Minor Injuries side within an hour and a half of arriving. The waiting area was clean, the MIU was clean. The Nurse Practitioner listened to the explanation that I offered about my fall. She described the anatomy of the foot and gave me a clear understanding about the rationale that led her to diagnose a tendon injury and not a fracture. I had been resting, icing, elevating the foot and taking anti-inflammatories prior to attending A&E and was directed to continue with this regimen. I had a very positive experience and cannot fault the service that I received.
