"Medical MIS-Management of miscarriage"

About: Whipps Cross University Hospital

Earlier this month l admitted myself into A&E for what l believed a miscarriage. I suffered terrible pain, excessive bleeding. I had informed the receptionist of my state and that l was in a great deal of pain, however after taking my details l was told to sit in the waiting area. I waited for almost 3 hours if not more...in absolute pain, hungry, very tried. Sadly l had no one with me who could have helped out. I was scared to leave the waiting area to purchase food just in case l was called upon. The staff showed little concern for my wellbeing even after knowing what l was going through. When l finally got to see a doctor - he failed to follow the protocol required ie a scan to confirm my miscarriage. Instead l was told to go home and have rest and take a couple of paracetmols and co-codomol. And that was it. I just felt like l was a nuisance. This was my worst experience at Whipps Cross (near Epping Forest). I have no respect for the staff who saw me on the day - especially the receptionist and the doctor (who to be honest seemed confused as to the course of action required or conduct) - the doctor also failed to provide me with a letter detailing my reason of being in the hospital. I felt just like a number (the ticket given to me) and nothing more. I was treated worse then an animal. The staff there have failed in their Duty of Care. I will never go back to this hospital. I should have listened to my instinct and just gone home and somehow dealt with it. It has now been almost 4 days and l am still very ill. And l honestly believe this could have been avoided if the staff took some care in the first instance.
