Sadly, I feel the need to express my concerns following a visit to the MIU at Chippenham hospital. I was advised by my GP surgery to attend the MIU to discuss my concerns about my health problem with a health practitioner. Unfortunately for me, my concerns were compounded when I was seen by a health practitioner, I sensed that I was treated with a minimum degree of respect, I experienced a wholly unprofessional transaction in my view. I have always received a professional service from the NHS. For future reference, please offer guidelines to statutory services with regards to the nature of service provision at the minor injury units so that they can disseminate this information to service users [general public]. This would alleviate any further distress and anxiety that is inherent with these types of transactions.
