After days on the recovery ward, I was told that I 'wasn't allowed to leave' until I was discharged. Having never been in hospital before, I was not aware of the discharge process. I was exhausted after the birth and had very little opportunity to sleep because of the staff constantly banging and shouting about at night. I said that I wanted to leave the ward and was told by many staff that I 'couldn't'. I was never informed that I could have discharged myself at any time! On revisiting my hospital records months later, I saw that someone even had the nerve to write in them that 'she feels she is being held against her will'! I also don't think its right that staff just invited themselves to sit on the bed when I was in it and have private chats between themselves. As for being 'so busy', if this is the case, then why are so many of them just hanging around making a nuisance of themselves? Really rude and unprofessional people who couldn't care less about other peoples feelings
"Misinforme?d throughout?, rude staff who couldn't..."
