"Wasn't examined which led to serious misdiagnosis!"

About: Newark Hospital

I visited the minor injuries unit with what I thought was a bad back. The doctor responded with "as long as you can feel your legs you are fine" and I was sent home to rest. Over the next 24 hours my condition worsened: fainting, feeling nauseous and generally extremely poorly. Managed to see my GP on the Monday morning and it turns out I had a large abscess, which if I had been examined at the minor injuries unit would have been identified! With further fainting, 2 weeks of 6 antibiotics a day I was fully recovered. If ever in this situation again I will ensure I see someone who can properly examine and correctly diagnose the cause of my pain!
