After arriving in A&E on Sunday night and being called to Triage, whilst I accept the role of which is to rid the people who should not be there, the personality of the triage nurse could be warmer? However, my complaint is regarding a certain member of staff who was in charge of CDU, post A&E. A&E staff on a whole were excellent. CDU was a different story. How dare we use the facilities after midnight! That's how they made us feel. Everything was difficult. Rude, discouteous, confrontational and disrespectful are just some words I would use to describe them. They continually hid behind the counter ignoring my partner who was writhing on bed in extreme agony. When challenged they refused pain relief and was over ruled by a doctor. Not content with thus, they then decided to issue it in small doses rather than full amount. When questioned they became argumentative and pulled the "don't abuse the staff" card. Quite simply the worst attitude in a nurse I have ever witnessed, if nights are not for you then find a new career. This member of staff will be hearing from me shortly.
