I am writing this review as I am sitting in the post care maternity ward. I seem to have been forgotten about! I had a c- section after contracting a virus in the antenatal ward. The staff were so busy I wasn't monitored from 8pm till 7am when I asked for an extra blanket because I was shivering. The labour ward and antenatal staff, other than that were excellent. Once dropped off in a sauna type room with 3 other recovering ladies I was introduced to my midwife. No advice on breast feeding given. Had to ask for pain relief on 3 occasions, husband had to stand for 20-30mins everytime another transfer was made due to lack of space, room is so hot!! How is it even safe? Midwife told me no milk is supplied as the hospital are pro breast feeding 'even though the hospital site says they support whatever the parent chooses, baby was so hungry special care had to give sugar water!! Midwife was so unhelpful just gave me a bunch of syringes and walked off. Staff obviously over stretched and I even caught a few roll their eyes at other ladies. Repeatedly asked a another room as visitors did not obide the visiting times, staff didn't seem to care. Oh and still sitting in a blood stained bed after requesting new sheets over a day ago. And just heard advice given to another lady re c section which wasn't given to me, so disorganised. Having your baby here is great but post natal don't hold your breath!
"Never again"
