"Superb treatment in Emergency Department at..."

About: Queen's Hospital (Romford)

I had to attend the Emergency Department last week following a weekend ofbeing unwell with virus like symptoms and chest pain. My GP called the ED Department and I arrived with a letter from my GP at approximately 4:00pm I was seen immediately by a triage nurse and given a further ECG (I had already had two taken at my GP Surgery) I then had a Trop T blood test. A junior doctor call me through and I had a consultation and an examination, and a further ECG. During the whole time I was spoken to and kept informed of what they were looking for and what would be happening. I was even offered refreshments in the ED Department. I was fully aware that the wait for the Trop T blood test result would be between 1 and 2 hours. The Consultant then arrived and I had a further examination. The consultant explained that I would need to wait until the Trop T test result was back and if it was negative I could go home, if it was positive I would be admitted. I was fortunate and it was negative. However, the Consultant said that I would need two further tests as an Out Patient to test whether I had angina or a problem with any of the valves of the heart and would be reviewed in approximately 6 weeks with these results. I felt the whole experieince was 5 star medical care and was more than satisfied.
