"Lack of care on maternity unit"

I believe my experience hugely contributed to my 'baby blues' and spoilt what should have been a happy time. I had a cesarean and went to the ward on a Friday night, my baby went down to neonatal 12 hours later due to low sugars. The midwives when doing their rounds didn't ask how I was feeling or ask about the baby they just gave me my medicine and put pressure on me to breast feed/express. There was no consistency I saw somebody different all the time hence why I had to ask for my blood clot injection one day. I found it hard to be on a ward with babies when mine wasn't with me and often cried. The toilet and shower room was filthy, lots of blood on the floor and worn night gowns. My bay flooded one morning from the shower and toilet, I refused to return as I didn't know how dirty the water was, the next thing I knew I was being discharged. This was 2 days after my c section, I felt an inconvenience and had to leave without my baby. I appreciate midwives are stretched but it feels they are there to do a job and they give no emotional support and are rude when you ask for help.
