"Son (14) bitten by dog (visit to A&E this evening)"

About: James Paget University Hospital

My son was bitten by a dog and on arrival to A & E we booked in easily and were seen within minutes. As it was on his bum it was very uncomfortable for him to sit down and so we were very grateful to be seen so quickly. The childrens doctor and nurse were fab with him, as you can imagine at 14 getting your backside out is not something you would want to do, however the doctor and the nurse put him at ease immediately. We were home again within the hour with antibiotics and the wound dressed. Cant thank the doctor and nurse enough, very professional yet humorous (just what you need in these situations). Thanks again.

I'm sorry to hear of the ordeal your son has had to go through, but very pleased that our staff made things as easy as possible for him and enabled you to get back home fairly quickly. I hope he is recovering well. Thanks for taking the time to record your comments; I will pass these on to the staff. Ann Filby, Head of Communications
