"Gall Bladder via ED"

About: Peterborough City Hospital

I had 2 overnight stays at this hospital recently after suffering from Cholecystitis (inflammation of the gallbladder) and ultimately resulting in surgery. Outstanding Hospital - the staff were second to none, friendly and professional. The only slight criticism I had was that I had very little information during my first stay, I didn't really know what had happened to me and what to expect. Perhaps a leaflet could be given to patients to explain their situation.

Firstly I hope you are recovering from your surgery. Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience. I have spoken to the ward sister of one of the surgical wards ( you do not specify where you were). She was very honest and said that there are leaflets about cholecystitis available but they do get forgotten on occasions. She will raise this at her ward meeting to remind staff to give them out. She is also going to check the leaflets to ensure they are up to date and appropriate for all areas to use. I will highlight your comments to the Matron for surgery so that she can pass on your compliments and the comments about the leaflets. Thank you again.
