My son Andy Baldock sadly passed away yesterday morning. He was in room 17, his favourite number actually. The staff were marvellous - kind and caring and made his journey if it was at all possible easier as he was very brave and suffered great pain as his organs slowly one by one closed down. We only came across one staff on night duty who was not compassionate when my daughter in law asked for help and was rudly dealt with but in all, the staff where splendid. The whole range of care was wonderful not only to my dearest son but to us siting with him. From start and to his final journey out of the room. I only hope when it is my time to go I get the same wonderful kindness and compassion. Pauline Baldock Eden Ward thank you

Dear Pauline I'm sorry to hear that Andy passed away yesterday and I would like to offer my condolences. It must be a really difficult time for you and your family, so thank you for taking the time and effort to leave feedback. I am so pleased to read that overall Andy, you and your family received the care and compassion we aim to deliver to every patient, and I am sorry for the one occasion when we did not get this right. We are always striving to improve and deliver the best possible care. I will pass your comments to Anna, Ward Matron so she can share them with the team and the doctors involved in Andy's care.
