What I liked I was in for an unplanned visit, and was very nervous. Found the hopsital very clean, the nurses and doctors and other staff very nice people and they all listened to you and offered there support, as much as they could, because it was very busy on the ward and the kitchen was out of order but the staff still managed to take care of our basic needs and give us refreshments. I had lots of supportive patients around me to and it was nice to have people to talk to, during my visit. I especially liked our night shift nurses, who did there rounds really well, What could be improved? More consistancy between the care you receive from each shift, I noticed differences in the time we received from each shift of nurses. I understand it was very busy on our ward, but I had to wait 4 hours for a blanket and I asked several nurses for one, and a few ladys around me went hungry for a while, I had to call the nurses in for them and move there TV's so they could make a call. Also small things like ensuring we have our call button or tv screen to hand or our water to drink, especially when we have just come out of an op and can not reach them to drink or make a call. Also I noticed diff in the way people were discharged and given information. Would like more after care advise on leaving the hopsital and more information on what was actually done in the op, as I still a little unclear. Anything else? I would like to thank all the staff for helping me with my stay and operation and hope the student nurses continue to be so enthusitic.
