Attended with my 5 year old with ASD on Thursday evening. Staff were exceptional. Despite being busy they made sure he clearly understood what was going on at all times and listened very carefully to him. They also carefully listened to and took their cue from me, rather than making assumptions about his needs and acting accordingly. All staff were aware of his needs ahead of arriving in rooms/ departments, thanks to the prompt action of the receptionist on arrival. The person who was running triage, was brilliant- setting the tone of the visit very carefully and responding to his numerous observations. This was so important. The person in X-Ray, had the patience of a saint and managed to get the X-Rays taken on the fifth attempt with the help of well done stickers, making the whole process a game and showing him the 'pictures'. The person who put in the back slab- as his wrist was fractured, was very kind and patient and again couldn't have done anymore. Many thanks to everyone for making what was a potentially very difficult trip to A&E a great experience.
"Outstanding practice in A&E"
