"maternity ward"

About: Manor Hospital

I gave birth to my son on the 08/02/14, he was a home birth thankfully, I had to go to the hospital due to needing stitches, I was told I could go home after it was done, when I was getting ready to leave they told me I had to go to triage and stay but I could go home in the morning instead, I got there the night staff seemed really nice and pleasant, I fell asleep due to having some strong painkillers to ease the pain, when I woke up my son was in my arms!! and when asked about this the reply was "well there was no harm done" no harm? what if I'd have turned in my sleep and he'd have fell on the floor he could have got seriouly hurt or worse, things went even more downhill from there, they said I couldn't go home till the evening because they were 'concerned' about my son and claimed he wasn't fed during the night when I clearly remember feeding him and having my partner but him back in the cot, they went on to tell me I had to get out the bed because I couldn't stay in bed all day, I was finding it hard to even move, I get out to go for a shower and they had a go at me for getting blood on the floor because it was just cleaned, I sat in the chair provided and moaned because I got blood on the chair, I told them I wanted to go home and they said if I tired to leave they'd step in and take my son even though they said they were happy to discharge him after I stayed till 6pm, 1 member of staff came in to bath my son even though I would have liked to try myself she then walked out the room and down the corridor twith him, I couldn't get off the bed unassisted , to find out where she'd gone, I contacted my partner who had jusy left the ward and a member of the dinner staff refused to let him back on saying he had no right to come onto the ward, the night time staff arrived and were happy for me to go home with my son, I would strongly advise people to not use triage the day time staff are rude and are not friendly or welcoming at all, when told that I would like to speak to someone about having more painkillers that I should have had an hour ago I was told to wait because they wanted a cup of tea first, yet if it wasnt for my partner going into the family room and making me a drink I wouldn't have got one all day, hated every moment I was in there!
