Attended the hospital today to accompany my Aunty who is having an operation. The only concern I have for this ward is the way the ward/bays are kept. From the outset I must make it clear that I do not fault the cleanliness of the bays. However my main concern or suggestion is wholly with reference to the way it appears. For anyone attending to have an operation I believe that the bays needs to have some sort of feel of comfortableness and homeliness which I believe will ease a patients nervousness. The room has disused feel about it and somewhat a representative of it being cold and a lonely place. Furthermore, although I accept that the bay is a gaeconology (misspelt) family members (regardless of men or woman) should be allowed to sit with the patient until they go off to the theatre. As stated before, my review is simply to suggest a way to help ease any patient from feeling nervous and not to complain about any member of staff.
