"Shocked!"

About: Croydon University Hospital

Never have I had such a shocking visit to A&E! I arrived to A&E with my 1yr old son, The care he received was fine although the nurses were over stretched! Anyways as we arrived to the main reception to register there was a distressed man in front of us as we walked in he was covered/soaked in blood! He was scared and wanting help asap he went for a door fell down there was blood all over the door and floor it was a mess he was shouting help me im dying! A receptionist or whoever she was went to his cries for help her response "yes yes I hear you ive called for a trolly and doctor but they need to see other people so they will come when they are ready" I couldn't believe it, this may be fair enough but the man was bleeding to death possibly?! Anyways a trolly came soon after! The other receptionist called for a cleaner and It took quite a while for them to come in this time young toddlers had came out of the childrens ward walking all over the blood it was distressing for everyone! My point is im sure these things unfortunately happen in a London hospital and the staff are "used to It" as I heard one say! But for patients visiting the hospital its very distressing and the staff need to be more on top of it! I only thank my baby is not old enough to remember what he saw but it was utter devastating that he had to witness this and see the lack of care the staff had for this man regardless of his situation that led to his injuries!
