I have been in a very bad place over recent months, my wife has terminal cancer and I also have health issues. I attended an appointment at the health village. Staff were promoting carers week.
I approached a young girl called Heather. She immediately recognised I was very upset and took me to a private area with a seat. What she did for me was quite simple...she listened! We have had bad experiences getting a diagnosis both in hospital and our surgery. Heather gave me appropriate information relating to caring and cancer and local support for me. She also offered me a feedback form for NHS Grampian following me telling her about the bad experiences.
I have not filled this in, as I feel satisfied that someone caring has now listened to me. Thank-you
