"Information and explanation"

About: Huddersfield Royal Infirmary / Cardiology

(as the patient),

Appointment for and Echocardiogram at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.

An indroduction from the sonographer and an explanation of the procedure would have been nice!

All I got was take your clothes off to the waist down and put the gown on opening at the front then lay on the bed. The member of staff then came at me with 3 stickers NOT explaining where they would go or what they were for. On placing the stickers they didnt ask for consent. I was given instructions to breath in breath out, lie on your left side. No please or thank you. At one point they started dropped the back of the bed down which startled me and then said 'just putting the bed down'

Overall I felt vulnerable, scared and uninformed as to what was going to happen. Did they just presume I knew what the procedure was? Did they take my consent non verbally as I had laid on the bed?

Nice person but needs to learn some customer care skills.
