When my 11year old child felt suddenly ill on Friday evening my neighbour suggested I call the Out of Hours number of the Royal London Hospital (Whitechapel). Once again the servic I received, from the operator that took my call to the doctor that promptly called me back, was absolutely outstanding and extremely helpful and reassuring. I would like to mention here the excellent service I had from a doctor that promptly called me back to advice me about my son health. I would like here to take the chance to praise the excellent patient care (I would have used the expression "customer care" in this instance but since we're patients other than customers when it comes to health care, I'm not quite sure what words would be most appropriate to describe the circumstances). I had, once again, outstanding advice and support from the NHS staff, which should never be taken for granted. I called the Out of Hours patients Wards within the Royal London Hospital (Whitechapel, London E1) at 9pm on Friday night in regard to my son's sudden sickness. The operator that took my call was extremely helpful, showing care and knowledge in handling my call. I was then promptly called back from the doctor, whom spent a lenght of time with me over the phone, asking me for a detailed description of my son's sickness as well as any family medical history that might have been relevant to the present situation. I felt very reassured and comforted by her call. The service I received last night is a huge credit to our National Health System and I would like to thank you all for your outstanding advice, help and support. I really hope somebody will read my comment and praise those wonderful kind people that really helped me last night. Thank you so much to you all.
