Like most people I can only speak of the experience I have had, and there may be problems in other departments, but, this ward for the care of the elderly was exceptional in its caring of the very vulnerable patients in their charge. The staff were clearly motivated, and had a calling for this kind of endeavour, the amount of time they had for concerned caring was exemplary. From the younger staff to the more experienced, there was no sign of the attitude that 'These oldies are not really worth a lot of trouble', which happens to old people nowadays. From careful foods that were gently 'denture friendly', and yet tasty enough to inspire jaded palettes, to the stream of drinks and other allowable comforts, I honestly cannot think of how this ward could be improved. Performance like this should be flagged up as an example to others as to what is possible.
"Cheetham Hill ward Excellence."
