"Wonderful treatment in the Planned Investigations..."

I seriously cannot believe this is the same hospital I have visited on many occasions over the last few years! I went in for a fitting of an implantable loop recorder and can honestly say my treatment was absolutely five star! I arrived at 8am and was immediately shown to my bed. No sooner had I sat down, than an extremely pleasant and affable nurse came to assess me and explain that I would be taken for my procedure any time from 10am. I was taken at 10.15am. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff, and they all seemed happy and relaxed, from the Plymouth University students ( 10 out of 10 for them and 150% effort and enthusiasm - very well done) to the staff nurses, cleaners, auxillaries, and operating staff. I honestly could not fault my care and treatment. Weirdly, there was nothing costly about what any of these people did for me, they just genuinely cared, and seemed to be one step ahead of my needs. Water was provided before I had to ask, my bed space was cleaned when I was absent, nurses enquired frequently whether or not I needed anything, and all in all a totally different experience to my stay on Marlborough Ward earlier in the year! Fantastic that Student Nurses are able to be of such use. There should be at least 6 on every ward in the hospital. What a difference they made, enabling the other staff to carry out their duties. A genuinely pleasant stay. Thankyou everyone. Care just like the "old days!)
