About: The Whittington Hospital

Having recently been diagnosed with womb cancer the last month of my life has been very stressful . I cannot speak more highly about my consultant or the sister.They treated me with respect as a human with care and thought at all times. My difficult situation was made manageable by their thought and professional expertise . I cannot thank them enough ! Not everything was plain sailing in my experience ... One individual in admissions lacked customer care and seemed irritated that I had to have an operation and caused others to have theirs cancelled and made booking the pre op assessment quite stressful. Also the bed manager had some sort of problem on my op day and though operated on at 9am I didn't get off recovery onto a ward until 11.30 at night. The Physio were lovely , pharmacy clear and efficient , nurses on Mary Seacole ward were lovely! But I have to say once again the consultant and sister stand out , exceeded all my expectations and are a credit and asset to the Whittington.

Thank you for taking the time to comment about the services you have experienced at Whittington Health; particularly at such a stressful time. It is very encouraging for staff to receive positive feedback where appropriate and we can assure you that we have passed your compliments on. We are however concerned to hear that you did not receive the standard of care we would expect from the admissions team or the bed manager. The relevant service managers have been informed and are introducing new systems to ensure all reception staff implement a good standard of customer care.
