"I will never return to this hospital."

About: Bassetlaw Hospital

I spent 6 days on ward B6 in May 2014 and have never experienced anything like it. Nurses swearing...Healthcare workers swearing and generally bitching about each other at every opportunity. Nurses forgetting to give me my painkillers..nurses bringing me painkillers that were not even for me. Observations not being done then a certain nurse blatantly lying to a consultant in front of me that she had done them but forgotten to write them down! 3 occasions where my fluid drip not even being turned on bearing in mind I was only on fluids and had vomitted and blacked out every time I moved. Certain nurses on night shift spent the entire night shouting with no regard to any patient trying to get some much needed sleep...planning which of them were going for a bath or just going for a sleep or to read their book! I had undergone a hysterectomy and removal of massive fibroid. The day after my op I was subjected to nurses and healthcare workers arguing in front of me about who should be giving dinners out! The arguments and back stabbing went on for days. I have got to say that there were some fantastic nurses and healthcare workers on the ward but the bad out weighed the good. I have never written a complaint before. I am not a complaining person. All of the above didn't really become an issue until the end of my stay when I ended up being rushed out of this hospital to Doncaster Royal Infirmary for an emergency operation. The last 24 hours of my stay was horrendous to say the least. I was whispered about...belittled and made to feel like I was a 'drama queen'...which I certainly am not. I will never go to this hospital again. Something has got to be done about the whole running of and atmosphere on ward B6. I had to spend a further 2 weeks in DRI and cannot fault the care I received at all and will be writing to them with nothing but positive comments. The nurses,Healthcare workers etc were all professional and not once did I hear any back stabbing. The difference in the 2 wards I was on was unbelievable. How can ward S10 in the Doncaster hospital be so different to B6 in Bassetlaw when they are called 'Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals Trust'?
