"Unhappy re quality of care"

About: Wansbeck Hospital

My husband has just been dicharged from ward 4, I as his wife am very unhappy re the quality of care received from both A&E department and ward 4, we at times in A&E felt as if we were being neurotic, were told to go home with laxatives as was diagnosed with constipation, eventually having surgery which ended with complications, once on ward to be left one day very Ill and no observations taken to another day being told to do all bowel movements in a pot as stools were to be tested, said pots and stools were left in the toilet for 24 hours.

Dear Madam, Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention. I am so sorry that you have felt so let down by the service your husband received in A&E and on ward 4 at Wansbeck. This comes as a great disappointment - we dont expect any of our patients to leave our hospitals feeling this way. I am anxious to receive the details about your husbands care. We want to act quickly to learn about all of your concerns and to use this feedback to improve. Unfortunatley while your post remains anonymous this is difficult for me to do. I would be very grateful if you would get in touch with me directly so that I can provide a swift response to your concerns. My email is annie.laverty@nhct.nhs.uk I am very sorry once again. With best wishes, Annie
