My 87 year old mother was referred to the Gynaecology outpatient department. I was dreading the visit...for her and for myself. It was a worrying time, her having cancer in the past, so we were thinking the worst. She was booked in to seethe doctor. I have to say that the visit was far less stressful than I thought. Checking in, we were welcomed by a smiling receptionist. The waiting area was clean, bright and airy. We did not have to wait too long before the nurse came and showed us through to the clinic room. The doctor was patient and very kind to my mother(he treated her like she was his mother - and you can't do better than that). An examination was required and I am told that this was performed with gentleness and with respect for my mums age and dignity. The whole visit was marked by the helpfulness of all the staff that we had contact with. To the Staff...I would like to extend my sincere thanks and tell them Well Done! We will need to visit again in September. this time there will be far less trepidation
"I was not looking forward to this."
