"Can't fault the staff, or procedure but follow up..."

About: Southlands Hospital

I saw a consultant under a 2 week referral. I was called very quickly and saw a consultant within a week, I was then scheduled for a biopsy where they removed the whole area. Originally I was told a small section would be removed but somewhere along the line this changed, I was happy to proceed, everyone was friendly, and took their time to explain everything. My issue is I was told I would get the results in 2-3 weeks. It's 3 weeks today, and I haven't heard anything. I assume, no news is good news but when being tested for skin cancer , waiting for the results is fairly stressful. Plus they don't tell you who to call if you don't hear anything , no follow up was offered either ( perhaps it's not needed) . In summary, I think communication could be better. If the results are likely to take longer then that is understandable but expectations should be set accordingly.
