My husband suffered several minor heart attacks in March 2014 and spent 6 weeks in Addenbrookes being assessed before his transfer to Papworth for a triple bypass. Our feelings of shock, fear and trepidation were immediately dispelled by the wonderful caring staff we met at Papworth. The old hospital exuded warmth, skill, professionalism and deep concern for my husband and my family. Every single question we asked was answered with clarity and patience and we all felt that he was in the best possible hands. When the consultant and his team came to talk to us to explain the procedure, he left us feeling completely confident that my husband could not have been in better hands. What a wonderful man.......what a wonderful team!! The two dedicated nurses who cared for him in Critical Care were truly amazing. They were patient, extremely knowledgeable and treated my husband with immense dignity. They also had the time and concern to support my younger son and myself when we were visiting after my husband's operation. Nothing was too much trouble for these wonderful dedicated young people. Later he was cared for on Mallard Ward ( H ) and they continued to provide care to this exceptional standard. I run out of superlatives to describe this very special hospital and it's tremendous staff. A huge 'Thank You ' to everyone.
"Very worried wife!!"
