"Community matron and ambulance service excellent"

About: Central Lancashire PCT / Community nursing North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust Royal Preston Hospital / Respiratory medicine

(as the patient),

I came home from Preston Royal Hospital six days ago where I was treated for respiratory problems. The care provided by the hospital staff in the COPD ward was brilliant. The ambulance service was also excellent as they came straight away to take me to hospital. Now that I am at home the community matron comes to visit me several times a month. She provides brilliant care for me.

Dear Neighbour576

I am sorry to hear that you had to go into hospital recently. What is reassuring is that your experience of the care provided whilst you were an in-patient 'was brilliant'. You also pay compliment to the ambulance service and I am sure that you must feel comforted by their prompt attention when you needed it.

You must be very pleased to be home, and it seems that the Community Matron service that you are receiving is providing you with the support that you need.

I am sure that you are aware but I will take this opportunity to remind you that should you need any advice or support in-between your Matron's planned visits, the service offers an open door policy so you can ring them up if you need to.

Thank you for taking the time to make this posting. It will be passed on the Community Matron Team.
