"mulitple visits"

About: Russells Hall Hospital

I have recently had a few health issues going on which have led to me having to go to a&e a couple of times and then to admissions to various wards. each time, despite being incredibly busy, I have been impressed with the care shown to me especially by the staff on a&e and aau. The staff were under a lot of pressure but not once did this affect the care they gave and it was never to much trouble for them to make a cup of tea, whatever the time. I have only one slight negative, which is that I was on a trolley in aau for two nights before a bed became available, but this is not a criticism of the staff, more a reflection of the pressure the system is under.

Thank you for posting your comments about your visits to our Accident and Emergency Department. It is so nice for the team who work hard in the department to receive this kind of positive feedback. They do work under immense pressure at times, especially when A&E is very busy, but always strive to offer the highest standards of care. We have noted your comments about waiting for a bed; this is never ideal for our patients and, across the trust, we are working hard to introduce new processes to improve the ‘flow’ of patients and to transfer them as soon as possible to bed on a ward. We have passed your comments onto the matron, lead nurse and medical service head in A&E and our Emergency Assessment Unit.
