My 85 year old father was admitted to a ward via A&E on Wed 11th June. It was agreed he would need the specialities of the Urology and Orthpedic consultants. It is now Sunday and he still hasn't seen a registrar or consultant and is still laying in bed not knowing when things are going to happen and is now getting mentally and physically stressed. There was a locum general doctor on the ward yesterday and he agreed that it would be best to get my dad out of the bed and moving around. He said he would try to get the Orthopedic team to see him later on Saturday ( again no one came !). There seems to be a massive comms problem and little feed back to the patient or families which doesn't inspire confidence. The nurses although very busy seem to be doing a good job but without a clear input from the regisitrar/consultant we aren't getting anywhere fast. I can see concerns raised by the CQC are mainly valid.
"Where are the registrars and consultants ???"
